CS371p Spring 2021 Week 8: Albert C. Trevino

What did you do this past week?

This past week, I was able to organize myself a bit more as well as get a lot of studying done for my two exams that I had, I think I did pretty well so all in all it was a good week.

What’s in your way?

At this moment, I’ve been feeling pretty good. I’m going to be driving a decent amount, so I’m unsure about my schedule for working on Project 3 for this class.

What will you do next week?

Next week will primarily just consist of working on Project 3. It might be a little tough for me considering it is Spring Break and I’m spending time with my parents, I am motivated to get it done this week.

If you read it, what did you think of the Liskov Substitution Principle?

The Liskov Substitution Principle was a very interesting read. It puts more of a perspective on problems that aren’t normally thought of from a consumer point of view, but rather the problems will break models when thought of from a programmers perspective.

What was your experience of heap arrays, allocators, and digits iterator?

I think I really understand these concepts. I was able to follow along during lectures and not get too confused. My group was unable to finish the exercise, but it was because of syntax issues, even though I think we all fully understood the problem and its solution.

What made you happy this week?

I was able to see my parents at the end of the week which was very nice and a good change from the norm. I was able to relax and reset this week which has made me much happier.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My tip-of-the-week for this week is to use the IDE Atom to work on group projects during this time. It has a plugin where you can remotely work with other people on the same file in real time. I know there are other options, but I found atom to be the easiest and most reliable. Have a good spring break!
